Information about courses held with our external providers.
At Birkdale High we remain as always committed to providing our Boys with the best possible opportunities, in order to support their learning and personal development, towards a bright and exciting future for them all.
Alternative provision seeks to support this aim, by presenting opportunities for those students requiring extra support in developing and increasing their learning and skill sets, on a Personal, Educational and future Professional Level.
In order to achieve the best possible opportunities the School has developed, and continues to develop imaginative, innovative and exciting partnerships with Charities, Organisations and Employers to help deliver such quality. One such partnership is with the Prince’s Trust delivering The Birkdale High Prince’s Trust XL club. The Club promotes a flexible approach, using relevant experiential learning, to support young people to achieve a range of personal and employability skills, and gain qualifications. Young people work together as a group on practical learning projects, which are designed to boost their confidence, improve self-esteem, attainment, attendance, and behaviour. These skills and personal qualities can support the students to achieve more at school and in the future. Studies show 88% of Club members go on to further education, work or training after their involvement with the club.
