There is a perception out there that business is all about numbers and selling, but in real-life this is quite the opposite. There are a number of facets which you will be surprised by. GCSE Business Studies is a subject which requires strong levels of written English and the ability to think ‘outside the box’ about various business situations in real-life.
Although Business Studies is not a core subject it is core in many ways. We use the skills developed from business in everyday situations and it opens the door for many career prospects such as banking, marketing, accounting, human relations (HR) and management. In addition, many careers other than traditional business careers involve the use of business skills or business knowledge. For example, nursing (designing rotas), teaching (managing groups of people) or retail advisor (selling and customer service).
Boys who choose Business Studies as an option will follow the GCSE Business Studies pathway.
