We are committed to ensuring that all students feel a genuine sense of belonging and have a meaningful voice in shaping their school experience. Our culture is built on inclusion, equity, and respect, creating a centre of excellence for students of all abilities and backgrounds. We aim to break down barriers and challenge stereotypes, demonstrating our unshakeable belief in the potential of every pupil. Â
Our high expectations for behaviour ensure that students are safe, respectful, and ready to learn. Ultimately, we aspire to secure exceptional outcomes for every learner, with individual progress and ambition for all at the heart of our success.Â
Our staff are experts in their fields and in the science of learning. They take pride in continually developing their practice, recognising that a culture of ongoing learning and reflection is essential for delivering outstanding experiences and outcomes. Relationships, recognition, and restoration underpin a positive school climate that promotes high self-esteem, wellbeing, and purposeful engagement.Â
Through an ambitious curriculum and a rich programme of enrichment and personal development, Birkdale High School ensures that every pupil is equipped to Aspire, Thrive, and Succeed.Â
This is a school where we all belong.
Curriculum
At Birkdale High school we are proud to offer our boys, regardless of their background, a challenging curriculum which prepares them for future study and work whilst creating considerate, resilient and knowledgeable young adults. Our inclusive curriculum is contextualised for our all-boy cohort to foster a sense of belonging to our whole school community and wider communities they are a part of. We build students’ sense of self-worth by emphasising that knowledge is power whilst also opening windows on the world around them.Â
Our curriculum is crafted to draw out key concepts to provide students with rich schemas that will enable them to become confident critical thinkers. This is underpinned by our three core values:Â
AspireÂ
Our curriculum will inspire our boys to have the desire to achieve and contribute positively to society. Our boys will strive to do their best across all areas of the curriculum.Â
Thrive Â
Our curriculum will enable our boys to be successful, confident and healthy by embracing opportunities and feeling a genuine sense of belonging.Â
SucceedÂ
Our curriculum will empower our boys with the understanding and empathy to become considerate, resilient and knowledgeable young adults.
